Coach Jeff Fisher declared Vince Young as the starting quarterback for the 2010-11 season, but would like Kerry Collins to return, the Tennessean reports.

Impact:
Collins will be an expensive back-up quarterback at $5.5 million dollars next season. He did not have such a good 2009-10 season, throwing for just six touchdowns and eight interceptions. While starting the Titans went 0-6. We don't see him going to another team to become the starter next year and we will have to see if the Titans want to continue to have him on their roster for 2010-11.

Kerry Collins lost his starting quarterback position during the Titans' Week 6 game to Vince Young. The Titans' went 0-6 in that time and Young has played very well since. The 2010-11 season will be Collins' 16th year in the league, and he is expected to make a $5.5 million base salary in the final year of his two-year contract.

Impact:
Collins has had no indication on whether the Titans are going to want to pay their back-up quarterback $5.5 million next year. Collins will be 38 years old next year, but has no plans to retire, the Tennessean reports.

12.18.09

Kerry Collins' teammate, Vince Young, is expected to start Sunday against the Dolphins, the Tennessean reports.

Impact:
At this point it looks like we'll only see Collins this week if Young experiences a setback in warmups or during Sunday's game.

12.16.09

Kerry Collins took first team reps in Wednesday's practice with Vince Young (hamstring) sitting out, the Tennessean reports.

Impact:
Collins took over for the injured Vince Young (hamstring) last Sunday, but Young hopes to play this Sunday against the Dolphins, and Collins will likely return to the bench. We will continue to monitor as the week continues.

12.13.09

Kerry Collins came into the second quarter of Sunday's game against the Rams after Vince Young left with a hamstring injury. He completed 11-for-19 passes for 154 yards. He threw a touchdown and did not throw any interceptions.

Impact:
Collins came in for Vince Young and played as if it was last year. He took good care of the football and managed the Titans offense well. The Titans did not skip a beat with Collins. Young's status has yet to be determined but if he is able to play, Collins is unlikely to start next week. We will continue to monitor the status' of both quarterbacks throughout the week.

12.11.09

With Vince Young dealing with a knee issue, Kerry Collins worked with the Titans' first-team offense Friday, the Tennessean reports.

Impact:
Young will be listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Rams, but insists he will play. Collins is ready though should coach Jeff Fisher decide there is too much risk in rolling with Young this week.

12.11.09

Kerry Collins finished Thursday's practice with the first team after Vince Young aggravated a knee injury he received on Sunday against the Colts, the Tennessean reports.

Impact:
Collins would likely start at quarterback if Vince Young (knee) cannot play. It's unlikely Young will miss any time due to his current injury, but we will continue to monitor his status.
